Snowed in with a sweet baby...

So, I haven't figured out an easy way to get the pictures I upload in the order I want, so we are going to go backwards on some of these.
Henry calls this one Jack's "ole" move and attributes it to his ties to San Antonio.

We got a bunch of snow and Ruby has been loving it. She likes to run in snow....she likes to eat snow...she likes to dig in the snow...

...but she doesn't like to stay outside too long before she comes in to warm up.

Henry thinks Jack looks like he is lifting an invisible weight in this picture. I love any picture with his eyes open...such a cutie.

This is post-bath with his hair combed...looking handsome and relaxed.

I love this one...so serious and maybe slightly cross-eyed (normal for newborns). He was a happy camper after his bath.

He actually seemed to enjoy the bath this time although he looks both terrified and freezing cold in this picture. He didn't cry which has been the case for the first few baths.

And this one Henry says should be called "To poop or not to poop...that is the question." He does look like he is deep in thought...love those bright blue eyes.

We are having such fun...he is very laid back and very cuddly. We couldn't think of anything better than that combination! Life is good.

Peace,
Emily, Henry and Jack Henry

More fun times with Jack...

Jack is already spoiled. He has gotten some great gifts including this precious hand embroidered onesie from our friends, the Jensens....so cute.

Ruby thinks the new baby gear is pretty cool.

She isn't always sure about sharing the attention with the new little one, but she is such a sweet dog and has enjoyed having us home so much.

Emily's dad ("Grumpy") is in town for the weekend and was having fun playing with the camera. Here Jack Henry is saying...really, Grumpy? Really?

Happy Daddy, Happy Baby...

Still a very laid back and happy baby...

We decided to try on some new underpants. We are doing cloth diapers, but they are still a little bit big as you can see. He was making funny faces as he got used to having this diaper on.

He is certainly loved....and obviously very entertaining.

Sweet boy...changing every day!

Everyone always tells you to sleep when the baby sleeps. Sounds good to me... especially when you have a such a great snuggle partner. This is a pretty common occurrence at our house these days...

Life is good.
Love,

Jack Henry Owen

We found out on Mother's Day that we were expecting our first baby. On December 28, 2010 at 9:15 pm, Jack Henry Owen was welcomed into the world weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz and measuring 20 inches long.

Over the last few months we have been busy preparing the nursery. Here is Jack checking out his crib for the first time today while my mom and I organized things in the nursery...

Ruby joined our family on New Year's Eve 2009. She has adjusted well to being a big sister and is very protective and loving.

Here is Jack Henry. So far, he is very laid back and very snuggly. He has periods where he is very alert and very curious. It is very easy to love this little guy.

Snuggling with mommy...

This is Jack Jarvis, Emily's maternal grandfather whom Jack was named after. He was a wonderful man with a loving heart and a playful spirit.

I know this isn't much of a post, but I figure I needed to start somewhere. Maybe blog length will increase as hours of sleep increase. :) At least we can share pictures of sweet Jack Henry and share stories as we begin this fun new journey.

Love and Peace in this New Year!
